Looking for a way to spend a relaxed summer evening? Head to Canberra鈥檚 . Set amongst the towering trees of the Australian National Botanic Gardens, you鈥檒l hear the buzzing of nature and the Oscars.

There鈥檚 popcorn, ice cream and food trucks onsite or bring your own picnic to keep things budget-friendly. You can also hire bean bags and deck chairs when you book tickets, though we think your comfiest blanket will do just fine!

Spend a day cruising Lake Burley Griffin

Head out onto the high seas, or rather, the calm waters of Lake Burley Griffin in your very own . Get a crew together, pack a picnic and set sail for a few hours to see Canberra鈥檚 iconic landmarks. 

The boats are electric and don鈥檛 require a license to operate. While they are shaded, we highly recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and wearing appropriate clothing to avoid that summer sting.
